Robert Iversen (1920-1988) was a professor of public administration at Syracuse University from 1963-1987 and was most known for his book The Schools and the Communists. He received a bachelors from the University of Minnesota and a master's degree and doctorate from the State University of Iowa. Iversen became a college professor with a specialization in 20th century American history and taught at the State University of Iowa, Drake University, Columbia University, and Pennsylvania State University. While at Pennsylvania State University, Iversen taught Social Science and was a director of the Center of Continuing Liberal Education. In later years, Iversen taught a mid-career development program that gathered 500 senior officials from local, state, and Federal governments at the Maxwell School at Syracuse University to study public administration.
The Robert Iversen Papers include drafts of his book The Schools and the Communists as well as research and correspondence concerning his writing process.
