Address: 1601 North Salina Street

Again in the old village of Salina will be found the second step of the new Revivalism. In this early structure the gable end has assumed new prominence. Now turned to face the street, this facade has appropriated details formerly reserved for its lengthier companion. Here again are the flat pilasters, the Georgian arches, and the Roman Doric capitals. The Adam oval plays a new singular role, and together with the flush clapboards, forms the predominate mood. Perhaps of most interest, however, is the first appearance of the true pediment. With the former dental moulding being enlarged to the substance of an entablature, a characteristic feature of the revival is born.

The building has obviously been altered on the lower floor with the wing possibly added at that time. In figure 3 may be seen the next door neighbor which although again much remodeled, still retains its original lines.
