In the full bloom of Revival perfectionism, this is the most purely Greek structure of the entire survey. For the first time we have a perfect entablature, complete even to the guttae, with triglyphs and metopes. Th e correct cornice mouldings, well proportioned columns and the barely noticeable small platforms on the roof just above the cornice which in ancient times were intended to support the anteilixes, are other classic features of perfection.
Revivalism has left its scar nevertheless, in the form of essential second story windows piercing the entablature, of oval window bisecting the pediment, and of bracketed entablatures attached at will. The entrance door frame, incorporating various classic motifs but again non-Greek in character, is complimentary rather than destructive and therefore to be applauded.*
The wing is not especially happy for it is an entity in itself, a smaller copy of the main facade looking as if it were an out-house of the main building. Not shown are additional wings which have been added to the rear.
