Biographical History

Colcord, Philbrick & Co. was a pharmacy and chemist in Great Falls, New Hampshire (now called Somersworth) during the mid-nineteenth century. It was connected to Colcord, Philbrick & Co. (later called Philbrick & Trafton) of Boston, founded by Samuel Runnels Philbrick and Samuel M. Colcord.

Scope and Contents of the Collection

The Colcord, Philbrick & Company Account Book contains a 240+ page ledger from Great Falls, New Hampshire (now Somersworth) covering the years 1847 to 1852. The book contains names of customers (many of them physicians), lists of items purchased, prices, and dates.
