Biographical History

Louis Harris (1902-1970) was an American painter known for his nudes, landscapes and portraits. He studied at the Art Students League of New York and worked in oils and watercolor.


Scope and Contents of the Collection

The Louis Harris Papers consists of clippings about Harris and his work, and a few black and white photographs of his paintings.

Clippings are as arranged by the artist, in roughly chronological order. Photographs are in no particular order.
