Biographical History

Hueber Hares Glavin, based in Syracuse, New York, provides architecture, landscape architecture, and engineering services. The company was founded by Murray Hueber and Francis E. Hares, later joined by James Glavin. Their work includes hospitals, churches, schools, and residential projects across New York and neighboring states. Other projects the firm has been involved in include the regional Master Plan for the Erie Canal Park (1968) and the 1979 International Summer Special Olympics.

The Everson Museum of Art, opened in 1968, was designed by noted architect I. M. Pei and is the first museum designed by him. The Everson evolved out of the Syracuse Museum of Fine Arts, founded in 1897 by art educator George Fisk Comfort (who also helped establish the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City). The Everson's collection is comprised largely of American paintings, sculpture, drawings and graphics that date from Colonial times to the present day. The museum is also known for its collection of ceramic art, one of the most comprehensive holdings of American ceramic art in the nation.

Scope and Contents of the Collection

The Hueber Hares Glavin Drawings consists entirely of architectural drawings of the Everson Museum of Art.
