Biographical History

Vanity Fair Silk Mills began in 1899 as a glove and mitten company in Pennsylvania. Between 1910 and 1935 it added underwear, hosiery, and elastic; during World War II it manufactured parachutes. Eventually it became the multibillion dollar VF Corporation, owning such well-known brands as Wrangler, Timberland, and Nautica. Howard B. Snader was an important member of the company's leadership team, serving as production manager, sales manager, and treasurer at various times.
