Biography

Photograph of Brian Bannister

Brian Bannister was a police officer on duty in Lockerbie the evening of December 21, 1988. Brian was one of the first officers on the scene at Sherwood Crescent, where the wings of the plane landed and exploded causing massive craters and the deaths of 11 residents of Lockerbie. Brian lived in the Sherwood Crescent area and was concerned about his own family and home while attempting to discharge his duties.

Brian's daughter Emma completed a project for her degree that featured photographs of people who were impacted by the Pan Am 103 tragedy. The images feature a broad spectrum of individuals, including two Lockerbie Scholars who were not alive in 1988, whose lives were all affected in different ways by the Pan Am 103 tragedy.
