Donald T. Bogie, resident of Lockerbie and former Director of Environmental & Leisure Services for the Annandale & Eskdale District Council, was instrumental in the early design of the Arlington Memorial Cairn. The Cairn was given to the families of the American victims of Pan Am Flight 103 by the people of Lockerbie.
The Donald T. Bogie Papers consist of two photocopies of preliminary design drawings for the Memorial Cairn at Arlington National Cemetery. The first depicts and describes the general proposed dimensions for the Cairn, while the second depicts the Cairn with the originally-proposed brass plaques featuring the names of all 270 victims.
