Dr. Ivan Gibson was a pathologist working on post-mortem exams following the Pan Am 103 air disaster. He had previously worked in Canada and also in Northern Ireland, where he accumulated some experience with trauma cases.
The Dr. Ivan Gibson Papers consists of a photograph and
writing piece by Gibson related to his experience as a pathologist performing
post-mortem exams following the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. The photograph is of the
temporary mortuary established at Lockerbie Ice Rink and the writing piece is a series
of vignettes about Gibson's experience in Lockerbie during the aftermath of the
disaster.
