Ian Hessenberg was an adjunct professor of photography at the Syracuse London Center in 1988. Five of the students who were killed in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 had been in his class. He had taught Kenneth Bissett, Steven Boland, Timothy Cardwell, Wendy Lincoln, and Richard Monetti.
The Ian Hessenberg Papers contain materials related to Ian Hessenberg's experience as an adjunct professor at the Syracuse London Center at the time of the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. Hessenberg taught five of the 35 Syracuse students killed in the bombing. Collection materials include photographs of the five students from Hessenberg's class, an open letter to the families of those five students, and clippings from the time of the bombing.
