The Syracuse University College of Law is an American Bar Association accredited law school founded in 1895. During the 2000-2002 trial of Abdel Basset Ali al-Megrahi and Lamen Khalifah Fhimah, the individuals charged with the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 on December 21 1988, it played a vital role in keeping the families of the 270 victims up-to-date on the proceedings. Through funding provided by the U.S Department of Justice Office of Victims of Crime, the law school created and managed an innovative website, The Lockerbie Trial Families Project. This password-protected website offered impartial daily information on the goings-on in the courtroom at Camp van Zeist in the Netherlands.
Dean's Distinguished Research Scholar and Professor of Law Donna E. Artz founded and directed the Lockerbie Trial Families Project at Syracuse University. During her time at Syracuse she served as the director of the Center for Global Law and Practice and founded and directed the Sierra Leone Project, where faculty and students assisted the Office of the Prosecutor of the Special Court for Sierra Leone, which was established by the United Nations and the country's government at the end of the decade-long Sierra Leone civil war. Donna Artz passed away on November 15, 2008.

The series is missing Trial Day 63; because the trail ran for 86 non-consecutive days the exact date is unknown.
