Historical Note

Riverwalk was composed by Carl Johnson, a music composition major who graduated from Syracuse Unviersity in 1990. Johnson was commissioned by Kappa Kappa Psi, the music and band fraternity, and Tau Beta Sigma, the music and band sorority, to compose a piece in memory of the Syracuse University students who died in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. The premiere of the piece was held on Wednesday November, 15, 1989 and was performed by the Syracuse University Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Robert Spradling.

Scope and Content Note

The Riverwalk Collection contains clippings, correspondence, and printed materials related to the musical work, Riverwalk, composed by Carl Johnson '90. The printed materials were published by the fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi.
