Syracuse University's Division of International Programs Abroad (DIPA) was the department responsible for the administration of the university's study abroad programs in 1988. DIPA was at the forefront of the university's response to the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103, and the loss of 35 students that had been studying abroad in their London program.
The department has since changed its named to SU Abroad.
The Pan Am 103 SU Abroad Collection contains materials related to the Division of International Programs Abroad (DIPA), now known as SU Abroad, and the role of this university office in navigating the crisis of the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 and the resultant deaths of 35 students who had been studying abroad through the DIPA program. The collection includes series for Clippings, Correspondence, Student Files for the 35 DIPA students killed in the bombing, and Subject Files.
