The Bixby family were alumni of Syracuse University. David W. Bixby (1922-2015) graduated in 1949 with a degree in Chemical Engineering, attending Syracuse University on the G.I. Bill. David's father, Harry W. Bixby (1887-1959) graduated in 1913 with a Bachelor's of Science and was a part of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. Harry then worked as a salesman for the Lourks Real Estate Agency until he retired in 1952.
The Bixby Family Photographs consists of 18 black and white photographs of Syracuse University buildings. The buildings include Lyman Hall, College of Law, L.C. Smith College, the Women's Gym, Haven Hall, Chemistry Building, Steele Hall, Hall of Languages, Crouse College, Carnegie Library, Sims Hall, and the Orange Publishing Company.
