      <head>Biographical History</head>
      <p>William Janocha (1959- ) is an American cartoonist, illustrator and comics historian. </p>
      <p>William Janocha was born in October 1959 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Janocha received his BFA from Syracuse University in 1981 and drew a daily comic strip while a student there. 
</p>
      <p>Janocha worked for the Walt Disney Productions Broadcast Arts studio in New York and became Mort Walker’s assistant in 1987.  Janocha has written for magazines including 
        
        <emph render="italic">Mad</emph> and 
        
        <emph render="italic">Hogan's Alley</emph>. He has drawn book illustrations  and his editorial cartoons have appeared in the 
        
        <emph render="italic">Greenwich Time</emph> and 
        
        <emph render="italic">Stamford Advocate</emph>. 
The National Cartoonists Society recognized Janocha with a Silver T-Square Award in 1996.

      <p>The 
        
        <emph render="bold">William Janocha Collection</emph> consists of 1 Sunday cartoon by George Merkle from the comic strip 
        
        <emph render="italic">Hy Score</emph> (1944); 1 daily cartoon by Ving Fuller from the comic strip 
        
        <emph render="italic">Little Doc</emph> (1956); and 75 cartoons by George Fett from the comic strips 
        
        <emph render="italic">Little Nono and Sniffy</emph> (1973) and 
        
        <emph render="italic">Norbert</emph> (1974-1981).</p>
      <p>
        <emph render="italic">Hy Score</emph> featured a FBI agent. 
        
        <emph render="italic">Little  Doc</emph> was distributed by Ving Features Syndicate. 
        
        <emph render="italic">Little Nono and Sniffy (Norbert)</emph> was distributed by United Feature Syndicate and was based on Fett's own pets, including his beagle Sniffy.</p>
