<p>Charles Harris Kuhn (1892-1989) was an American cartoonist and creator of the comic strip <emph render="italic">Grandma</emph>.</p><p>Born in 1892 in Prairie City, Illinois, Kuhn attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts before serving in the Navy during World War I. He spent most of his career primarily as an editorial cartoonist, starting his career with the <emph render="italic">Rocky Mountain News</emph>, and spending the bulk of it with the <emph render="italic">Indianapolis News</emph>. In 1947, Kuhn launched his own comic strip feature, <emph render="italic">Grandma</emph>, with the Richardson syndicate. King Features picked-up the strip the following year, and altogether <emph render="italic">Grandma</emph> ran some twenty-two years, until Kuhn's retirement in 1969.
