The collection consists of a single letter, written by John A. Clark and dated Feb 1, 1841 in Syracuse, to Rev. W. W. Nind. The letter reports community and church events to the Reverend, including a murder, a suicide, a groping, a drowning, the return of a "wild" young woman, and laments that "there does not appear to be as much unity of feeling nor as much brotherly love as formerly."
