Harry Louis Freund (1905-1999) was an American muralist and painter known for his depictions of life in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas during the 1930s.
The Louis Freund Papers consist of artwork (both original and reproduction) and various printed items about Freund and his work, including newspaper clippings, magazine articles and exhibition brochures. Many of the clippings date from his time as artist-in-residence at Stetson University in Florida.
The majority of our archival and manuscript collections are housed offsite and require advanced notice for retrieval. Researchers are encouraged to contact us in advance concerning the collection material they wish to access for their research.
