Nothing is known of Samuel Johnson other than what can be gleaned from the collection. He was born in 1837, lived in Springfield, New York and attended the Oneida Conference Seminary (later Cazenovia Seminary) in Cazenovia, New York.
The Samuel Johnson Albums consist of two friendship or autograph albums created between the years 1862 and 1864 while Johnson was attending the Oneida Conference Seminary (what would become Cazenovia Seminary) in Cazenovia, New York.
