Robert H. Pierson was a graduate of Syracuse University (class of 1898) where he was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He was a physician at the House of the Good Shepherd and later had an office in Syracuse. [Delta Kappa Epsilon Quarterly, Vol. XVII, 1899.] In 1902, he was one of only 18 young doctors to pass the U.S. Army's examination for Assistant Surgeon. ["Army Surgeons Wanted," New York Times, Jun 23, 1902.]
The Robert H. Pierson Daybooks consists of two volumes containing Dr. Pierson's notes on diagnosis, treatment and payment. In some cases the notes are extremely detailed.
