Frank Theis (dates unknown) was a German journalist and author. Internal evidence of the collection suggests that he wrote on political and historical topics.
The Frank Thies Manuscript consists of a handwritten essay, written in 1948, on "the question...as to whether or not a European Union could ever be realized." The essay cites the failure of the unification of Greece under Philip II of Macedonia as a cautionary example.
The accompanying letter from Thies states that the essay "was justly understood as a warning against the isolation of the European states consdering the threat of Soviet Communism." The essay is in German and has many corrections and emendations by the author; the accompanying letter is in English.
