Lillian Battenfield (1896-1999) studied Classics at Syracuse University and graduated in 1918.
While she was a student at Syracuse University, Lillian Battenfield was part of many campus organizations, including the Women’s Athletic Association, YWCA, Glee Club, and the Classical Club. She was also a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.
In 1929, she married Leroy Oliver and then went on to work for 32 years as a teacher in the Seneca Falls School District. Lillian Battenfield was a charter member of the Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls, New York, a member of the Seneca Falls Historical Society, as well as a member of the Seneca Falls Rotary Club where she was a Paul Harris Fellow.
The Lillian Battenfield Notebooks consist of her notebooks for her German VIII, German XX, History VI, Roman History, and German Pedagogy classes. There is also a small booklet on the inside cover of the German Pedagogy notebook titled "Pupils' Outlines for Home Study."
