The Syracuse University Department of English is part of the College of Arts & Sciences at Syracuse University. Historical documentation is unclear about the actual founding of the Department of English, but records indicate that it existed by at least the 1940s. The department offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in creative writing, and an undergraduate degree in English and Textual Studies (ETS).
The Syracuse University Department of English Records spans from 1925 to 2018. It consists of various administrative and academic files, including syllabi and course schedules, faculty files, course bulletins, programs, publications produced by the department, materials related to former Department Chair Steven Mailloux, and materials related to the Raymond Carver Reading Series.
The collection is currently unprocessed and not available for research. Please contact the University Archives for more information.
