Charles Johnson (1931-2025) and Lynda Fain Johnson (1930-2022) were Syracuse University alumni. Lynda graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in home economics in 1952, and Charles graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering in 1953. Charles returned to Syracuse University for his Ph.D. and graduated with a doctorate in chemical engineering in 1957. While they were students, Charles was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, and Lynda was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, as well as the Home Economics Club, Skeptics’ Corner, and the Women’s Recreation Association. Charles and Lynda met while undergraduates at Syracuse University and married in 1953. After graduating, Charles went on to a career in chemical engineering, and Lynda to a career in convention management.
