Historical Note

The National Veteran Resource Center (NVRC) is the headquarters of Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) as well as other on-campus resources for veterans, active service members of the United States Armed Forces, and military-connected families . These resources include the Office of Veteran and Military Affairs (OVMA), the offices of both the Army and Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), Veteran Career Services, the Syracuse University & Regional Student Veterans Resource Center, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Veteran Success on Campus as well as office and recreation space for veterans and organizations that serve them. In 2020, all programs under the NVRC, including the IVMF, moved into the Daniel and Gayle D'Aniello Building, a state-of-the-art facility serving as the center of veteran life on Syracuse University's campus. This collaborative space facilitates academic research and actionable programming, with the express purpose of advancing the social and economic concerns of veterans and their families. Construction was made possible in part due to a generous gift from U.S. Navy veteran and University Life Trustee Daniel D'Aniello '68 and his wife Gayle.
