Cathryne Hardesty Sivers earned a Master of Arts in 1949 and a Doctorate of Education in 1956 at Syracuse University. During her time as a graduate student, she was Head Resident of at least one Cottage (student housing similar to a dormitory) and participated in the Student Dean Program.
The Cathryne V. Hardesty Sivers Papers consist of materials relating to her time as a graduate student at Syracuse University and her role as a Head Resident and Student Dean. Included are graduate student materials, individual resident evaluations and disciplinary records, housing lists and receipts, materials for Head Residents and residents under their supervision, Student Dean newsletters, and notes from Student Dean meetings and classes. A majority of the materials span from 1947 to 1951 and the newsletters span from 1948 to 1959.
