Donald Z. Terhune was a student at Syracuse University from 1922 to 1926. He graduated from the College of Agriculture with a degree in agriculture. Terhune was an active member of groups affiliated with the College of Agriculture such as Sigma Tau, the professional agriculture fraternity, The Harvester, a student publication focused on agriculture, as well as being on the University Grange. He was also a member of the Y.M.C.A. and Theta Rho on campus.
The Donald Z. Terhune Scrapbook is made up of a scrapbook that primarily documents Terhune's last two years (1925-1926) at Syracuse University. The scrapbook gives an overview of what life was like at Syracuse University in the 1920s. Terhune was a member of several campus organizations, including Sigma Tau, the University Grange, The Harvester, and the Y.M.C.A. The scrapbook thus also includes memorabilia, fliers, and other printed materials associated with those groups.
A significant portion of his scrapbook is also devoted to general life on campus. There are sections devoted to "Campus Life," "Athletics," "Faculty," and "Alumni," as well as information on the College of Agriculture as a whole. In the Athletics section, there are many news clippings, photographs, and some ticket stubs. In the Campus Life section, there are clippings of Syracuse songs and chants, Daily Orange clippings, ticket stubs and programs to Syracuse University shows, programs from various events around campus such as Dad's Day, Thanksgiving Vespers, and Mother's Day. This section also includes black and white photographs of buildings on campus in the 1920s along with the program for Commencement for the class of 1926. Finally, in the Alumni Life section, there are newspaper clippings and ticket stubs from football games in the 1930s, and newspaper clippings with information about Syracuse University's 1928 Commencement.
