Biography
LeRoy Sutherland Throckmorton graduated from Syracuse University in 1913 with a degree in law. While at Syracuse University he was involved in many organizations and sports on campus. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta, Pi Phi Mu, Theta Nu Epsilon, and the Corpse and Coffin society. He participated in the track team as a freshman and varsity football as a sophomore and junior. In his senior year he was the president of the senior law class.
Scope and Content Note
The LeRoy Sutherland Throckmorton Papers consist of materials dated 1910 to 1913. Types of materials found in this collection include one bound commencement book, postcards, and photographs. The commencement book is from Throckmorton’s commencement ceremony in 1913. The postcards look to all be Syracuse University related. Many of them feature images of sporting events or campus buildings. Some of the postcards include messages written between members of the Throckmorton family. The photographs all focus on Syracuse University athletics, particularly track competitions.

Gift of Elizabeth Lawrence to the Syracuse University Archives in 2018.
Processing Information
The commencement book was removed from its original paper, wrapped in archival paper and placed in a folder. Postcards and photographs were placed into Mylar sleeves and put in folders.
