Roselle Frank Woodhull was a graduate of Syracuse University. He was born on March 12, 1884 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He eventually moved to Ticonderoga, New York, before enrolling at Syracuse University in 1905. Woodhull graduated in 1909 with an advanced engineering degree and worked for the Metropolitan Street Railway Company in New York City. In 1913 he married Pearl North Thorpe, who graduated from the University in 1910 with a bachelor's in philosophy.
The R. F. Woodhull Memorabilia is composed of a stitched, cyanotype fabric collage. Each panel bears one or more photogram images, which were created by exposing the image and chemically treated fabric to light. In the center of the piece is the University seal. Other images include those of presumably Woodhull and Thorpe, building interiors, household pets, Syracuse scenery, and a panel dedicated to Ticonderoga.
Please note that the collection is housed off-site, and advance notice is required to allow time to have the materials brought to the Reading Room on campus.
