Image 4 is of a special retractable electrical cord and outlets for flexible equipment installation. The nature of research requires that certain labs be totally flexible in allowing for different types of equipment to be installed as the science develops. The cord reels are attached to special blocking which is mounted above the acoustic hung ceiling to take the service load of the operation of the reel equipment. In many instances, the special reel outlets  are on emergency power, as well as voltage regulation.
