Built in 1941, the Seneca Army Depot occupied approximately 10,000 acres of land between Seneca Lake and Cayuga Lake in Seneca County, New York. It was used as a munitions storage and disposal facility by the United States Army from 1941 until the 1990s, and during the Cold War allegedly held the largest stockpile of Army nuclear weapons in the country. The base has also been known since the 1940s for being home to the largest herd of white deer in the world, known as the Seneca White Deer. The base was closed in 2000 and the property is presently (2013) used for a variety of civilian activities including residential housing, stock car racing, and leased storage.
The Seneca Ordnance Depot Completion Report consists of a single large volume containing typed reports and summaries, architectural renderings and numerous photographs.
Single volume.
