Biography

Pamela Ray

Pamela Ray is an alumna of Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. She is currently the president of Pamela Ray & Associates, LLC. Ray has been a Volunteer Commissioner at Arlington County Housing Commission, a Senior Legislative Staff member at the United States Senate, a Legislative Analyst for State-Federal Relations: New York State Senate Majority, and has been on the Professional Committee Staff: United States Senate Banking Committee at the United States Senate. Ray worked with Suse Lowenstein, the creator of Dark Elegy, to lobby the National Capitol Memorial Advisory Commission to place the work in the Washington, D.C. under the Commemorative Works Act.

Scope and Content Note

The Pamela Ray papers contain Clippings, Correspondence, and Printed material. These materials deal with the lobbying of Congress to include the art piece Dark Elegy, by artist Suse Lowenstein whose son Alexander was among the 35 Syracuse University students killed in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103, on federal property at the National Mall.
