Robert W. Devaul (1918-2013) was a graduate student at Syracuse University in the 1950s. Before his time at the University, he served as a member of the United States Army. He received his Master's degree in Geology in 1959 and was inducted in 1952 as an associate member of the Syracuse Chapter Society of the Sigma Xi, a scientific research honor society for scientists and engineers. He worked for the United States Geological Survey for over thirty years, travelling across the United States and Santiago, Chile, before settling in Madison, Wisconsin, and continuing his work as a geologist there.
The Robert W. Devaul Papers consists of a Syracuse University graduate degree diploma, a certificate of membership to the Syracuse Chapter of the Society of the Sigma Xi, and a photograph of Devaul.
