Laurence G. Hamilton was a student at Syracuse University from 1957 to 1962, graduating with a Bachelor of Science from the School of Speech and Dramatic Arts. During his time at Syracuse, he took a great number of photographs of campus life, especially of his life as a brother of the fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha.
The collection includes negatives and prints of a number of subjects, ranging from the Syracuse University campus to Hell Week to parties and annual events attended by Hamilton and his fraternity brothers. Materials are organized by topic and separated by material type. As Hamilton had labeled negatives more extensively than prints, the folders with negatives include more information on dates, order, and persons photographed than the folders with prints. Almost all of the prints in the collection are developed from the included negatives.
There are also a number of CD-ROMs containing scanned photographs.
