Rabbi Robert L. Kravitz (1947-) is an alumnus of Syracuse University. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Kravitz enrolled at Syracuse University in 1965. While on campus, he was a member of the Goon Squad, Marching Band, University Union, University Religious Council, and Orange Pages. He was also the vice president and cantor of Hillel, the Jewish student organization on campus. Additionally, Kravitz was heavily involved with WAER, the campus radio station. He was the station's director of public affairs and hosted a variety of programs. Kravitz graduated in 1969 with a bachelor's degree from the Television and Radio Department. After graduation, Kravitz went on to attend seminary at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, Ohio and was ordained in 1974. He then worked as a congregational rabbi in various cities before moving to Scottsdale, Arizona to take a position as the executive director of the Arizona chapter of the American Jewish Committee. He also served as a volunteer chaplain for the Phoenix Police Department and in other civic capacities as well, such as being the chair of the area's Human Rights Commission.
The Rabbi Robert L. Kravitz Audiotapes consists of two audiotapes created by Kravitz during his time as a student at Syracuse University. One is from his final WAER program, "Speak Up," featuring an interview with Hendricks Chapel Dean Reverend John McCombe. The other audiotape is a final project from one of his courses.
