Christine Riley [b. 1950] attended the College of Human Development at Syracuse University, where she received a Master of Arts in Child and Family Studies in 1978. Riley was a member of the Women’s Studies Steering Committee, formed by graduate students and faculty in 1976 to develop a Women’s Studies Program at Syracuse University. The interdisciplinary Women's Studies Program was established in Fall 1977 in the College of Arts and Sciences. Riley also participated in the Women's Studies Curriculum Committee, which was established in 1977 to develop the core curriculum of the Women's Studies Program.
The Chris Riley Papers include materials related to Riley's experience on the Women's Studies Steering Committee and the Women's Studies Curriculum Committee. The papers include meeting minutes, brochures, clippings, correspondence, general notes, and the Women's Studies Program Proposal and drafts.
