Robert B. Fisk (1922-2012) was a Syracuse University alumnus and staff member. He served in World War II as a member of the Army Air Corps and attended Syracuse University on the G.I. Bill. While at the University, he was a member of the Flying Club and the Air Force Reserves. He graduated in 1949 with a degree in business administration and began working for Syracuse University not long after as a photographer in the motion picture department, a position he remained in for 42 years. In this capacity he traveled throughout Europe and the Middle East, notably Iran, in the 1950s as part of a photography and documentary filmmaking crew. His documentarian activities in Iran were part of United States President Harry S. Truman's Point Four Program, which Syracuse University was involved with in a documentary filmmaking capacity under the direction of Dr. Don G. Williams, the head of the Syracuse University Audio-Visual Center.
The Robert B. Fisk Papers contains two series:
The Alumni and student materials series comprises papers from Fisk's time as a Syracuse University student and alumnus. These include a physical examination card, tuition ledger cards, supply vouchers, a graduation progress checklist, and alumni association documents.
The Staff materials series contains two travelog audiotapes in compact disc and reel format, as well as a paper notice informing staff that employees will soon qualify for Social Security.
Please note that the collection is housed off-site, and advance notice is required to allow time to have the materials brought to the Reading Room on campus.
Access to audiovisual material requires advance notice to produce a use copy.
