William Janocha (1959- ) is an American cartoonist, illustrator and comics historian.
William Janocha was born in October 1959 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Janocha received his BFA from Syracuse University in 1981 and drew a daily comic strip while a student there.
Janocha worked for the Walt Disney Productions Broadcast Arts studio in New York and became Mort Walker’s assistant in 1987. Janocha has written for magazines including Mad and Hogan's Alley. He has drawn book illustrations and his editorial cartoons have appeared in the Greenwich Time and Stamford Advocate. The National Cartoonists Society recognized Janocha with a Silver T-Square Award in 1996.
The William Janocha Collection consists of 1 Sunday cartoon by George Merkle from the comic strip Hy Score (1944); 1 daily cartoon by Ving Fuller from the comic strip Little Doc (1956); and 75 cartoons by George Fett from the comic strips Little Nono and Sniffy (1973) and Norbert (1974-1981).
Hy Score featured a FBI agent. Little Doc was distributed by Ving Features Syndicate. Little Nono and Sniffy (Norbert) was distributed by United Feature Syndicate and was based on Fett's own pets, including his beagle Sniffy.
Each title is foldered separately. Little Nono and Sniffy and Norbert panels are in chronological order.
