Frederick Burr Opper (1857-1937) was an American cartoonist and creator of the newspaper comic strips Happy Hooligan, And Her Name Was Maud!, Alphonse and Gaston and many others.
The Frederick Burr Opper Cartoons collection contains 3 original Sunday cartoons from the newspaper comic strip Happy Hooligan and the companion topper strip And Her Name Was Maud! (1931). Sunday cartoon: traces of graphite, blue pencil, pen and ink on illustration board, approx. 21 ½ x 27 ½ in.
