Christopher Koenig received his Master's degree in physical education from Syracuse University in 1989. During his time at the University, Koenig was an athletic trainer for the men's lacrosse team. In this role, he accompanied the team and Coach Roy Simmons, Jr. on a trip to Lockerbie, Scotland and the United Kingdom in the aftermath of the December 21, 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. During this trip, the team visited the fields surrounding Lockerbie where debris from Pan Am Flight 103 came to rest, paid their respects at memorials to the victims of the disaster, hosted public lacrosse clinics in the town of Lockerbie, and played exhibition games with the English National Team and the English Lacrosse Union President's Team.
The Christopher Koenig Photographs consists of original photographs of the Syracuse University men's lacrosse team trip to Lockerbie, Scotland in December 1989 and January 1990.
