Manly King Haskins (1892-1976) attended Syracuse University from 1911 to 1915 and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was on the cross country and track teams and sang in the University Chorus while he was a student on campus. He and his sister Ethel Ione Damon (née Haskins) were from Cuyler, New York.
The Damon and Haskins Family Postcards consists of postcards depicting Syracuse University buildings and views from the 1910s. There are also two photographic postcards showing students in foundry and machine shop classes.
Most of the postcards in the collection were written by Manly King Haskins to his sister Ethel Ione Damon and covered topics like the weather in Syracuse, upcoming examinations, and Haskins' travel plans to visit his sister and her family.
The remaining postcards were sent to Ethel Damon from “R.F.D.,” “Gladys A.,” “Estella,” and J[?] R. Hill.
