Division 16 - Electrical
Section 16670 Lightning
Protection
image 9: Lightning Protection.
The image shows the terminus of a lightning protection circuit. These circuits run throughout the building and grounds the structure, piping, and equipment as a precaution against lightning strike. This is also coupled with surge protectors at each mechanical room and electric closet. Maintenance of consistent and uninterrupted line current and voltage regulation is imperative in a laboratory building of this type. All columns in the structural frame have been grounded individually as an added precaution against a power surge due to lighting strike.
