The image shows a concrete truck discharging its concrete into a hopper, which is on a concrete pump truck. The pump is designed mechanically to maintain the concrete mix consistency while allowing it to be pumped quickly over long and /or high distances. A special admixture is used when concrete is pumped to insure consistency through the pump circuit.

Image 3 shows concrete being delivered via the pump arm (white tube) to a flexible reinforced rubber tube which is moved across the form by concrete masons as each section of this slab is placed. The pump procedure, when applicable, allows for an efficient and quick placement of concrete.
