          3.11 Monolithic Slab Finishes

Image 4 shows a concrete slab on grade being finished with the aid of mechanical trowels. Final troweling is accomplished by hand (workman in lower left) to a specified levelness tolerance for the programmatic of that particular finished floor. Upon the completion of the slab finish, a curing compound will be applied to its surface to retard moisture evaporation during the curing process. Note the concrete pump truck to one side of the slab.
