The view is of a plastic laminate top being installed and coped to an interior gypsum board wall. Note the wood ground on the wall which provides the attachment and bearing surface for the top. The top is manufactured with a wood composition board back and plastic laminate top and bottom. The top layer of plastic laminate is the finished surface of the casework. The bottom layer is laminated to provide a balance in the assembly for expansion and contraction minimizing warping of the top.

Images 5-6: The images show the completed installation of plastic laminate casework. The installation must be coped to fit the field condition at the walls and floors. The work is performed by utilizing the architectural drawings as a guide for shop drawing production by the fabricator which is reviewed and approved by the Architect. All case work, although designed by the Architect, is field measured to provide a sure fit into the built condition.
