Sunset BoulevardFranz Waxman was the first composer to win the Academy Award for Best Original Score two years in succession. The year after winning the award for Sunset Boulevard, he won for his work on A Place in the Sun, directed by George Stevens and starring Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift. On the left below is a cue sheet from the production and on the right is a conductors score for Dance and Angela, which accompanied the movie moment when Taylor and Clift fall in love. |
