A full leather binding in blue Harmatan leather. The cover decoration consists of a blind tooled silhouette of a female figure representing Salammbo covered with a shawl that stretches across the front and back covers and is studded with gilded stars throughout. The inside of the covers are dressed with sunken doublures of deep blue Japanese paper. The end bands are sewn with three silk threads and the top edge is painted with blue water color paint. 8 X 6 inches. Bound 2004-2005.
Wilfredo A. Geigel is a practicing attorney at law who has taken bookbinding as a serious hobby. He started binding eight years ago at the age of 58. He is enrolled in the diploma program of the American Academy of Bookbinding in Telluride, Colorado, having taken courses with Tini Miura, Frank Mowery, Eleanore Ramsey and Monique Lallier. He has also taken courses at the Centro del bel Libro in Ascona, Switzerland with Edwin Heim. Geigel is a member of the Guild of Book Workers, The California Guild of Book Workers, and the Les Amis de la Reliure d'Art du Canada. He has lectured of the art of bookbinding and the history of the book and is presently involved in the process of publishing a book on the History of the Book and its Bindings.
