image 5: Sleeves.

These images (5-6) show the installation of wall pipe sleeves into the foundation & formwork. Although the sleeves are set by the concrete contractor, they are fabricated with all locations identified by the mechanical contractor. Note the amount of sleeves on the rear foundation wall of image 5.  Careful coordination is a must if piping and conduit are to pass through these sleeves at a later point in construction.

Image 6 shows sleeves at a typical foundation form. The pipe sleeve is set into the form at a coordinated elevation and location. The finished piping that will pass through this sleeve will be sealed by an expandable water seal installed prior to backfill and compaction of the perimeter excavation.
