This view shows glass being installed into the skylight frames (specified under Division-7, Section 07820). The glass uses in the skylights must be safety glass as required by code. The glass must be able to stay in place, in the frame, should breakage occur.

image 12: Glass and aluminum curtain wall.

Image 12 shows a group of honor students in front of the West curtain wall. Here glazing was installed after the frames were leveled and shimmed. Glazing on the lower lights within 18" of the floor must be glazed with safety glass per code.

image 13: Glass block glazing.

Image 13 shows a glass block light located within a fire exit stair system. The block is laid up with horizontal truss reinforcing similar to unit masonry construction. The specification for this glass work is located in Division 4- Section 04270 Unit Masonry.
